Privacy Policy
SeatView is a fan-built atlas of real seat views. We collect as little as possible; here is how we handle your information.
Submissions and images
The seat-view photos you upload are shown publicly and licensed under CC-BY-NC 4.0 for non-commercial reuse. Please don't upload anything showing faces, ticket QR codes, or other personally identifiable information.
What we collect
Browsing needs no account. We use no third-party analytics or ad tracking, and we don't build user profiles.
IP and abuse prevention
For rate-limiting and vote de-duplication we keep a salted hash of your IP address for a short time. We never store the raw IP and can't re-identify you from it.
Human verification
Submissions and seconding use Cloudflare Turnstile for human verification. That step is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Comments and ratings
Venue comments are provided by the third-party service giscus, loaded as an embedded frame, and stored in the Discussions of our public GitHub repository. Posting a comment requires signing in to GitHub and authorizing giscus; that step is governed by the GitHub and giscus privacy policies. Reading needs no account. Four-dimension venue ratings need no sign-in either: as with vote de-duplication, we keep only a salted hash of your IP, never the raw IP.
Local storage
We keep only a few preferences in your browser (light/dark theme, last venue visited, tree expansion state). This data stays on your device and is never sent to us.
